Nappa's power level and why...

They say it because 5000+ Goku easily dodged Nappa.

I know it was said Vegeta and Nappa couldn't alter their battle power on Earth, but it was also heavily implied Nappa used more power when fighting Goku. Goku noted the difference. What do you think of this?

Nappa's better performance is not attributed to any power up, but his calmed mind.

But he clearly showed far better fights prowess than before, with even Goku saying that was a lot better. I cannot have that Nappa much weaker than Goku.

Yeah and based on Vegeta's insistence that Nappa could take out Goku I can only conclude he is pretty close to 8000. Nappa could not even see Goku's 5000+ power and after calming down he could follow Goku 8000+. That doesn't make sense if he didn't increase his powers IMO.

Saiyan durability (that's exclusive to Nappa for some reason) helps you keep up with someone over twice your strength apparently...

It's not exclusive to Nappa.
In that same saga, Vegeta was still a threat after getting damaged by a Genki Dama half as strong as the one intended to kill his 10x stronger Great Ape form.
Goku survived getting crushed by Great Ape Vegeta(who was like over 10x stronger than Goku) even after his body was exhausted from Kaioken.

Well I'd say people has good reasons to believe he couldn't increase his battle power, due to his shock due to Gohan changing his battle power at will (as if it was something new to him) or Vegeta saying he learned the control over his power level on Earth. But I feel that's heavily implied both of them actually did it on Earth. It's just consequence of AT's poor writing again, I guess.

Like with Freeza, it was apparently shown he doing a power up in his 1st form, with Kuririn even saying he didn't believe his power was so much:

But later Vegeta showed surprise towards 2nd form Freeza changing his battle powers, implying 1st form Freeza didn't do it.

Freeza could have just been flaring his ki for battle in his 1st form, the same kind of thing Piccolo does in the Android Saga.
It's possible Nappa and Vegeta could have done that instead of suppression, but his better perfomance against Goku is all attributed to his mental state and not using more effort.

Durability has nothing to do with moving faster. Goku had no issue hitting a pissed off Nappa, but didn't once Nappa calmed down. Nappa's speed took Goku by surprise based on the !! you see when he barely dodges his punch.
