I could probably understand Orochi not noticing that when he's been isolated from other worldly events, but you're telling me neither Kaido nor any of his subordinates were knowledgeable of such details to not notice what is quite literally a red (pirate) flag right in their face? :punk

Not to mention that he was an infamous member of the Shichibukai who even fodder like Yosaku and Johnny of East Blue knew of. Yet the crew of the strongest Yonko have no idea :ha

Seems Page One and Ulti are stronger than I gave them credit for, or at least more durable, seeing as how they recovered quickly from taking an Elephant Gun and Thunder Bagua. It could just be due to their traits as experienced Ancient Zoan though, considering awakened versions of regular Zoan users with pretty simplistic combat skills are known for their incredible recovery abilities.

Kanjuro: Can contend with warriors that have enough power to destroy cities without taking significant damage.
Also Kanjuro: Gets cut by a kid with a small knife.

Not quite as huge of a feat inconsistency as Fisher Tiger getting killed with regular bullets, but still :ha. Also pretty fitting that Big Mom's being called Olin the Oiran, given the oiran profession lends itself well to her attitude when it comes to husbands.

Roger got killed by a standard blade. It stands to reason that when someone's defenses are down, they can still take damage from sharp objects (aside from fat fucks like kaido and big mom)

Roger had AIDs his illness that made him close to death at the time though. Even accepting it as a rule, it's a pretty inconsistent one with the notable exceptions to it you mentioned.

I think the Fisher Tiger death is the worst of all.

987 was decent enough. The scabbards did little damage to Kaido unsurprisingly. Looks like Luffy is going to fight Big Mom solo soon. Will be interesting to see him go full out after his training. I reckon he won't be too far off their level with his current levels of Haki.

988 felt like way too short of a chapter considering there was a break, and now it seems as though there will be another break.. The only way i'll be able to call that a good chapter is if Sanji died.

Who knows. It was established a long time ago that there would be more frequent breaks due to the virus.

Not much happened in the chapter, though it does seem to be establishing Nekomamushi and/or Inuarashi may take Jack down (or maybe Raizo after the Minks have softened him up).
Also, it seems like Oda really loves giving Brook some shine after a period of him not doing much. First he makes it so the Straw Hats get all the info they needed on Big Mom's Road Poneglyph, now he drives Franky's car into her face. Inb4 he turns out to be instrumental in taking Kaido down :troll.

Maybe if he teams up with Zolo. I can't see him lasting long on his own.

Yeah, him and Zoro teaming up on King could be a likely scenario, with the other super novas teaming up on a Yonko. Dunno how they will get past the fact that there's 2 Yonkos though. Still, I think that Marco taking on King is more likely.

I'd say it's more likely they'll fight Queen and Marco fights King due to the links between the latter two (both Yonko second-in commands with avian Devil Fruits), though it's up in the air if that key link will matter when the Straw Hats are closer to King right now.

If all of the 9 scabbards combined could only do minor damage to Kaido, I fail to see how the Supernovas would be able to take on Big Mom. Feasibly there is no way that the alliance can win this battle unless one of the following happens.

1. Big Mom turns on Kaido and gets killed.
2. Admirals come to Wano.
3. Moon Isaac Jr. is the lurking legend.

Luffy and maybe Kid if he got stronger from training in prison are the only fighters capable of taking on the top Yonko commanders, let alone taking on the Yonko. Marco is likely one of the strongest there and he was inferior to the Admirals at Marineford. Even he would hardly be able to do anything to Kaido or Big Mom. There's really no path to victory unless Luffy awakens his Devil Fruit or is hiding Gear 5 lol.

I dunno what they will come up with either. I think they will likely take on a Yonko until the end of this arc, although I agree that, so far, it'd seem too rushy given what we were shown... Luffy getting to this level over a few days training seems forced, indeed... although that's what I think it'll amount to. May be worth remembering that Luffy couldn't even budge base Lucci with his attacks at water 7 and later on he was outdoing even leopard Lucci over a few days span... so a huge jump in power over minor things done isn't unprecedented, at least. Yeah, we are talking about a Yonko here, but still.
