How did the Galactic Patrol even capture and contain all these prisoners if most of them can give current Base Galu and Vegeta a hard time? Are we to assume suddenly entire groups of ridiculously strong fighters appeared and Merus arrested them all himself?

And Vegeta's going to Yardrat, probably to learn Shunkan Ido. Why didn't he just ask Goku to do the job in all the years he's known him? It's not as if DBS Vegeta is as prideful as his past self and he's already taken a page from Goku's book in the past, such as MSSJ.

Base is underrating it, one of these prisoners managed to knock down SSJ3 Goku.

I don't needlessly look for plot holes to dissect every chapter.

I don't ceaselessly look for plot holes, and I think think this arc is just... Ehh, something you could live without. Consistency is still to be expected for a good arc though. I value a lot the feeling, the emotion a certain scene can convey, I haven't felt anything like this when reading/watching through Super. Maybe one or other scene from the Zamasu arc in the anime but that's about it.

You can find plot holes everywhere though if you look hard enough. Something minor as "Galactic Patrol" and Moro knowing where Namek is is proof enough. Yes, it was supposed to be a secret location but the galactic patrol is supposed to know as part of their jurisdiction.
