Manga Jiren >>>> Anime Jiren in terms of characterisation. He at least shows a good sense of his justice here rather than being a stoic instant faggot like in the anime. Him having some sort of grand wish also helps make some build up for whatever his character arc leads to, rather than having absolutely nothing to make us invested in him like in the anime. The manga did an infinitely better job with the Pride Troopers.

As for how the recruitment will compare, there's no way it isn't going to be rushed in the manga, though compared to having snail pacing and little payoff in either medium, I'd much rather be subjugated to the manga getting this shit over with. Also seems like it'll keep powerscaling consistent, since Goku's already established that #18 >> Kuririn.

Yeah, it was. I'm disappointed. I would've liked at least one person being recruited for the U7 team aside from the obvious Vegeta. Have Goku arrive to Krillin's house so I'm at least looking forward to the next chapter (which I am, don't get me wrong, but it would've been a better cliffhanger than leaving it at nothing).

31 had better wrap up all of the tournament recruiting and even get to the start of the ToP... Obviously that'll be tough to fit into one chapter, but they're getting way too far behind here.

Not necessarily. A lot of the tournament so far has felt a step above filler. The battles with Ribrianne stick out like a raw dick. We don't need Goku to fight Caulifla and Kale to regain his stamina, they can know they're outmatched and merge right away. We don't need Kafla vs SSG Goku, he can just go right to Blue. We don't need Freeza and Gohan to fight, Freeza can just eliminate Frost.
