Do you think Korra's worldbuilding would have been slightly better if instead of it being based on 1920s new york it was based around Meijii era of Japan?

It would've probably been slightly better due to the problems that arose from choosing aesthetics over coherency, though I doubt it would've boosted things dramatically unless the other elements were changed (Korra's Mary Sue nature, how Blood Bending became completely broken, etc.).

Seeing how you've been playing Gears and Yakuza I'm guessing you have an Xbox. What are your thoughts on the Series S and X? If you have a PC, what are your specs? :donovan

Do you have any ficticuous works other than that Pokémon fanfiction?

I honestly haven't looked too heavily into the new consoles, but they do seem to have good specs and outshine some parts of the PS5 in a technical aspect, though obviously gameplay and the game library will be what makes or breaks the console. Thus far, there hasn't been many major reveals for the S/X's library for me to say whether I'll be in a rush to getting it immediately.

Don't have one I'm afraid. It requires a lot of physical space, especially for a good one. I do like the concept of a lot of PC games though, particularly the Total War series.

I'm in the process of writing a novel series, though getting around to finding the right publisher can be difficult, especially nowadays.

If you do put a book out I'd be happy to support it. I already have two books in my Zetard collection. :troll

Do you have a job?

Not at the moment due to the SEO company I was working for going down and there being very few local jobs available (most of the nearby cities recently went into full lockdown). I should start SEO article writing again under a new company with some staff from the previous one, though it'll take a while before everything's set up for it.

SEO? Search Engine Optimisation? :giraffe
Yeah. The past and present company focuses on blogs with enough SEO content to succeed in being found in search results.

Do you still wish to create a manga?
Not really, considering the modern state of manga is pretty much a popularity contest that praises mediocrity or poor quality as long as it can emotionally manipulate the masses rather than putting care into making something good, much like what's happened with the majority of modern films and tv right now beyond the rare exceptions. That, and it requires far more time to draw a simple scene or part of one than to describe it in written text, as well as more limits when it comes to delving into a character's mind internally.

I would like to, perhaps an adaptation of my sci-fi novel series with the right budget. Of course, that'd be a pipedream when that often requires funding from or conformation to the :withhelds in the mainstream entertainment industry.

I mean, I wouldn't utilise super speed if running directly towards a big hole either :troll2.

Seriously though, I do recall George Lucas mentioning in the commentary of the Droideka scene that he wanted to present how fast the Jedi were from the droids' perspective (given the angle we see them from when using "Force Speed" was from their perspective), so it was probably a case of mishandled editing rather than a genuine plot hole. That, and we don't really see how far they went from that sprint alone, so it could be they were using the same speed amplification throughout the entire fight with Maul and it was simply the perspective that changed, similar to how DBZ characters will be shown fighting at a speed we can see despite characters moving far faster than sound since the 21st TB.

If they were using force speed all along, those were some quick ass laser gates. Though it makes more sense these doors to a dangerous room would open and close in the blink of an eye rather than stay open for several arbitrary seconds. Assuming they even have to be opened, that is.

Kenshi Makaku's personality was for the most part a typical brute villain, but his role in the plot was serviceable with how Alita's villains tend to elevate on a scale of both power and internal complexity, with his desire to not be forgotten serving as a very human one to set him apart from similar archetypes. 5.5/10

Zapan starts off as a very one-dimensional evil bounty hunter, though the impact his experiences with Sarah has on him does help make him two-dimensional by the time of his return and the plot involving the Berserker Body was a good way to tie up that loose end. 6/10

Den serves as another bridging of gaps in the moral complexity scale of villains and rivals in Alita, with him having the right reasons for his actions in knowing Tiphares/Zalem is to blame for the surface-dwellers' woes but the wrong way of going about them through his discrimination of anyone from there. When Koyomi meets him is when Den truly starts to grow as a character with him showcasing a desire to protect her during his final moments, which says a lot for his moral complexity when he was meant to be just an incarnation of Kaos' rage. 7.5/10

Nova is easily the most prominent and important villain within the Alita series. In the original manga, whilst very much the evil scientist trope, though is well characterised through his multiple interests and desire to see those he enhances overcome their "karma". He also serves a far different type of villain as his main method of combating and attempt to overcome Alita being to break her psychologically rather than physically.
It's in Last Order that Nova truly shines with his wildcard nature, acting as a necessary support character and ally to Alita with him revealing much about Tiphares that makes his extreme actions and shows a more just side to him through his actions against Tiphares, as well as his doubts on whether he was pursuing the right goals. Combined with how he ties so many other characters together, he's easily the best and most important villain in the series. 9/10

M'badi started off as a great antagonist. His backstory was very well done in showing how the events on Pluto changed him and later how he feels slightly troubled by the differing perception the public has on his present self despite the changes that have happened. His decision to use ZOTT as a method of disposing of criminals was interesting in tying in to as further showing the entertainment the ruling class of this universe gets from the lower class' struggles as well as showing his desire to impose his will on the universe for what he considers the most stable outcome, despite him making several moral compromises on his past and present ideals along the way. His impact does end up falling short compared to Nova as of the semi-finals once Alita humiliates him, though that does at least add the sense of doubt as his calm visage cracks towards his downfall. 8/10

Lol @ Moro arc's 0.1/10 rating. No surprise there, but are you leaving it just enough room so that if the ending is worse than you expect right now, you can lower it to a 0? :alex2

Rate the following as well:

All arcs in the Pokemon anime, Yu-Gi-Oh! (manga and DM anime including DSOD), Death Note/Bakuman/All You Need is Kill, Devilman/Devilman Lady, FMA (ignore 2003 if you still haven't seen it), Slam Dunk, Vagabond (not including Real since it is so short), Berserk (give Fantasia some bonus points for finally delving into Gaiseric's backstory), LotGH, Alita/Last Order/Mars Chronicle, and Ping Pong :troll just so you can have fun shitting on it.

If you ever feel like elaborating on the ratings, you can make a thread on them since I don't want to spam up your ask me thread.
