Togari didn't even display manipulation is what makes the difference. Literally the best performance we can infer he showed was just enhancing his knives with Shu, and he didn't even have a contingency plan for someone else stealing/catching his knives. For an examiner (however incompetent) who trained for a year after his defeat, he was a loser of retardedly massive proportions.

The way those blades came back to his hands gives it a fair chance that it's due to manipulation.

Nobunaga already beat Gon at least 5 times before that, plus he seemed to be taken by surprise at Gon's sudden burst of power. If he gave it his all I'm sure Nobu would've won regardless, plus this was after Gon learned all the basics of Nen. In the Hunter Exams he didn't know shit.

That's the point. Gon gets bursts of power that he doesn't normally have under intense emotions, the same applies to the Illumi case. Hell, he could have killed Morel if he wanted to because of that.

Zushi seemed like a loser compared to most Hunters considering there are less than 80 Hunters in the world and his talent was only one in 100,000 (meaning there are hundreds of thousands of people like him). Yet he could still use Nen basics like Gyo, Ten, etc. at a young age. If this faggot was really a trained Hunter Examiner a year before the series began and trained the whole time since his defeat, this battle shouldn't have gone the way it did. He'd still have lost, but to lose to a Hisoka who didn't even activate his Nen powers is just embarrassing, plus the 6 months thing is just :punk :punk

1/100,000 in terms of Nen users. Most Hunters probably aren't that talented. Hell, Wing probably doesn't even have that kind of talent. Not to mention, Bisky taking 10 years to distribute her aura as precise as Killua did after a month or so of training. Not everyone is a prodigy that can improve that quickly.

Just because Hisoka respects the Butler's power doesn't mean that it represents the power of all other examiners. All it takes to become a Pro Hunters is to know the basics of Nen. I wouldn't be surprised if this Togari guy doesn't even know any advanced Nen techniques. He's a loser and is why Hisoka put him in his place.

It was literally checkmate the moment Hisoka caught the knives lol. Manipulation my ass. At least that Heavens Arena Beyblade user guy could severely injure Gon the moment he touched the Nen imbued tops.

Right, but that was after Gon already learned Nen and greatly enhanced his physical power. In the Hunter Exams arc his nodes weren't even open yet, so he did that purely through physical strength to a guy who'd be top tier even in the Phantom Troupe, and can move tens of tons. That makes zero sense.

Hunters are very talented in general. Gon even worried that he was the worst Hunter in the organization in the GI arc or something to that effect. Kurapika had 5 Hatsu chains before Gon even learned anything past shit like Gyo and Ten, and his talent was never specified to be as great as Killua or Gon's. There are less than 100 Hunters in the world, and Zushi seems like fodder compared to Kurapika even in terms of pure talent. If this Togari nigga was already qualified to be an examiner 1 year before the series, he shouldn't have been out of options because Hisoka caught his knives lol. If he was an enhancer, why didn't he have any backup plans in case someone repelled the knives or neutralized them? Gon was still a noob for half of the Greed Island arc and he still had 3 Hatsus. This nigga's been a Hunter for years and was drafted as an Examiner, and he ran out of options because someone caught his knives, rather than doing a very basic display of Manipulation Nen that would hurt Hisoka if he tried to grab the knives or something. Even if he's laughably weak for a Hunter Examiner, he should at the very least be more skilled than pre-GI Gon and Killua at least, especially when they took a 2 month break from learning Nen during HA.

Gido had a personal connection to those beyblades which is why they were stronger than they were normally supposed to be.

Adrenalin can affect you with or without Nen. I think you're making it a bigger deal than it really is, this isn't like DBZ. For example, Netero said if he doesn't harden his stomach than he could take damage from Gon's headbutt (and this was Gon before even pushing the 1st testing gate). Illumi was just passively standing there letting Gon crush his arm.

There are actually more than 500 Hunters in the world.

At this point the issue you're having isn't whether Togari has Nen but that why he was so weak to be qualified as an examiner, which wasn't really what I was getting into at the start of this debate.

They still very clearly were enhanced with Nen and repelled opponents on contact with enough force to crush their bones. Togari's shit didn't have any effect beyond cutting 1 inch deep into Hisoka's shoulder.

I'd have bought it if Gon unconsciously used Nen or something and it was explained later that Illumi was in Zetsu mode. Since that wasn't the case, it's just bull because someone who can move tens of tons despite not even being an Enhancer shouldn't have his arm broken by an injured noob like Hunter Exams arc Gon.

I'm only entertaining your assumption that he used Nen because that fits in with him being a licensed Hunter. What I am skeptical about is how on Earth he can be so deluded and inexperienced despite having been a Hunter Examiner for at least a year that he thought a knife throwing technique with no manipulation Nen behind it could kill Hisoka, and the fact that he took 6 months to learn how to catch the knives is ridiculous. Nen enhances all bodily senses and functions, if he can so much as activate Ten then he should have no trouble catching knives without training. Hence, I deride Togashi here for his lack of planning.

My bad about the number of Hunters, must have misremembered 700 as 70.

Then it's more about Togari having an impossibly low IQ to the point where it's bad writing. Sure, I can get behind that.

Anyways we aren't really getting anywhere so let's agree to disagree. That was a pretty fun debate, moreso than about DBZ. There should be more HxH topics.

Yeah Togari is a retard, but I don't understand how the hell Netero got the idea to appoint him as an examiner (possibly twice, based on him appearing in Hisoka's second exam).

You should watch up to the end of the 2011 HxH anime if you haven't already, if you want to debate about that series more.

You should read the manga if you want to experience truly brilliant art and weekly chapters.

I've watched HxH like a year ago but I kind of skimmed through the Chimera Ant arc so I'm rewatching to remember more details.

I've never read the manga in totality but I checked out a couple chapters recently for comparison. As far as I know, the Tankobon version has pretty decent art. Not as good as Pre-Cell arc DB art imo, but still good.

I recommend reading the Hisoka one shot manga. The art is far superior to even Berserk’s in its prime.

It really depends on the media in question. For books (manga/comics included), I prefer physical completely as scrolling a pdf or waiting for a page to load is a lot more tiresome than turning a page and it's easier to get back to specific points. For games and DVDs, it's more complex. I prefer digital in terms of usage as it takes up less physical space and the way in which the disc drives of consoles such as the Xbox One and PS4 work compared to prior ones have a lot more problems (had numerous cases of the Xbox One not reading the disc when inserted compared to in prior generations where the tray would come out for you to place the disc perfectly). The problem with digital media, however, is that it can be temporary as something streamed on a site like Netflix is only there for as long as those in charge wish it to be, whereas a physical copy won't be suddenly scrubbed from an archive.

When do you think the American comic book industry will stop spreading identity politics and left wing propaganda? They've always been left leaning, but the SJW :trash that's been doled out since 2009 or so has alienated tons of readers who don't want every character to change skin colors to appease leftists, and it's probably affected sales negatively as well.

Considering how deeply ingrained far-left ideologues have become in the industry as of the 21st Century, probably never without a complete reset for the industry as a whole, which in itself is very much a fantasy with how nepotistic it's become.

Both are equally bad places to live for different reasons, though Somalia is slightly better as it's most likely you won't be killed for not being Muslim as opposed to it being almost a certainty you'll be killed for believing anything different from North Korea's state Atheism and not deifying its supreme leader.

Do you think dbs would have been better if it had a darker more mature tone?
A darker tone wouldn't affect the writing. The Future Trunks Arc was fairly dark by DB standards and tried to take a more mature and nuanced approach with Zamasu, but none of that helped with how many plot holes, character inconsistencies and muddled themes it had.

It's nice. I prefer the faster and more powerful osts for Conan, but this slow and steady one is good for what it aims to do.
