What is Are 88?
An OVA series revolving around a man tricked into signing a contract to becoming a mercenary in a civil war as he struggles between trying to complete the contract to get back to his old life whilst gaining a bloodlust from his experience. Along with being a well written war drama, it has by far the best aerial battles in any military anime series.

Just make sure to watch the 1980s OVAs and not the 00s TV Series with it's generic presentation and shit CGI.

Do you remember the arcade game/SNES title UN Squadron? That's Area 88.

You going to watch the new LoGH?

Considering what they've done with the art style and music, not to mention squeezing the first arc into 12 episodes from what was 26 in the original making a rushed job inevitable, absolutely not.

Can anyone recommend me an anime that is similar to Ranma 1/2?
Rumiko Takahashi's other works tend to have a similar tone, so perhaps Urusei Yatsura. It's not really much more than a plotless comedy, but has a colourful enough cast to keep engagement up for a while. Inuyasha is another popular work of her's, though not one I'd recommend. It's first 8-10 episodes are fairly engaging, yet after that it just keeps going in circles for 100+ episodes as a completely generic Shonen.

Guys do you think I should watch Slam Dunk at all?
Read the manga, maybe, though there's little need when Real is a far superior version of it by the same mangaka. Watch the anime, no, as compared to the manga it suffers from poor pacing, sound issues and has an incomplete ending.

I guess you could say Great Teacher Onizuka could be vaguely compared as being a far more bawdy and outrageous version of that style of humour in it's school setting and character interactions.

In terms of humorous character interactions with the same general tone, Hajime no Ippo and to a lesser extent Yu Yu Hakusho are somewhat comparable, though I wouldn't recommend them for much beyond that when Ashita no Joe and Hunter X Hunter 2011 can be considered far superior versions in every other way respectively.

I'll give all these a try then, thanks.

You guys have any recommendations? I'm finishing FZ and the sequel and then I plan to move on to other things.

I concur, though I'd say the manga is more of a recommendation due to superior art and pacing.

Depends what you're really looking for in a series at the moment, but I'd be happy to help find the kind of series you're feeling like watching.

I would recommend not bothering with Fate/stay-night seeing as what good aspects F/Z had are completely tarnished within it by making the protagonist a complete Gary Stu and the tone of the series being changed to that of a generic Battle Shonen/Harem with some completely dumb pieces of dialogue (eg. "People die when they are killed", "The Archer class is made of archers", "Just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right", etc.)
