Yea, I haven't been able to get into it. With the L Saga, I was obsessed. I got through 30 episodes in a couple of days. Now it's been a month or so and can't finish the last 7. Going to try this weekend.

No one can be better than L. L damn near caught Light in 30 seconds. Crazy stuff.

I recommend the SpongeBob anime. Squidward goes hard.

Just finished it. Can't help but feel let down. Light gets taken out for a simple mistake? Meh... I think I have to rewrite this shit. Light defeats L and goes on to become the god of that world. Near and Mello came out of nowhere and GTFO. There is no one else like L, that's it. Light won, that's all she wrote.

Mello is fucking stupid as fuck. Shouldn't have even introduced that stupid fuck. Oh yea, the whole Near and Mello is officially non canon imo. Such horseshit stupid shit!

The Near and Mello Arc had the potential to be a great finale if they'd instead made sure Light didn't know there were two of them and taken him down with a pincer attack. It'd also stay consistent with Near stating they weren't a match for L individually as well. However, Ohba decided to fuck things up.

Part 2 was a huge letdown compared to the L Arc. As a whole, it wasn't as shit as most other 2nd parts of Shonen series (eg. Naruto, Bleach, etc.), since there were still a few good strategies Light pulled off before he went full retard, but still a similar drop in quality from some very good writing with Light's conflict with L. It's still one of the better Shonen series (I'd probably place it in my top 10 Shonen), but the drop in quality between parts, as well as the L Arc not having a solid enough ending to just say the Near/Mello Arc can be ignored, would have me rate the series no higher than a 6/10.

If you want to go for the best, watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes, though if you don't want everything you watch afterwards to pale in comparison, one of the other series I recommended in the previous page. Depends what kind of series you feel like watching at the moment.

Better to post that in the Manga Recommendation thread, since :toei fucked up the anime in a lot of ways.

Anyways I suggest Tekkaman Blade (already did before it got drowned out in the DN discussions :CC). Good soundtrack by Kaoru Wada who also worked on 3x3 Eyes, great characters and plot with some memorable performances by the likes of Toshiyuki Morikawa, Koyasu, Suzuoki and Megumi Hayashibara, only hampered by fairly inconsistent animation due to budget restraints in the early 90s.

Kissanime.ru. It also the only site that has the prequel spinoffs to it, which are pretty good for prequels from what I've seen.

My favorite part of the Deathnote series was when Light gets the Deathnote back in the Helicopter, and all his memories return. That was fantastic.

Overall, Light was the best character. I do not like the end in that he is finally taken out and dies a lonely painful death..but it is what it is. Those types of folks always die like that...no happy endings.

My favorite part as well. I was already willing to see the evil and manipulative Light back, who didn't care for Misa's feelings and just wished to reach his goal. It's funny to see how the contact with the Death Note completely changed Light from a guy that somewhat cared for the other's feelings and was a guy with principles to a psycopath with no feelings for the others, who will use them without a second thought.

Light was also dumber in part two. Old Light wouldn't be taken out that way lol.

After watching 30 episodes of Conan, there's still no hint about the men in black that were responsible for Conan's kid body lol.

Could anyone recommend me some anime? I've always been what you call a "Casual" anime fan only watching what was aired on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim but I've always been interested in watching new anime and made it a point to do that this year, and so far I've only seen I guess two different animes.

I'd like something in the genres of: Action/Suspense/Mystery/Romance.
