I mean Grade 2 is basically a less extreme version of Grade 3, if Semi could buff himself up to match Super Vegeta I think he would have.

Why is Goku shocked that the Kamehameha does nothing?

Why is Piccolo shocked Raditz can dodge the Special Beam Cannon?


These two questions cut to the heart of the issue that is plaguing me.

Is the increasing part a Vizism? Herms doesn't have it but I'm wondering if he omitted it as opposed to Viz adding it. Because I remembered this:

Chapter: 204 (DBZ 10), P10.1
Context: Vegeta talking about Raditz losing to Goku and co.
Vegeta: “"Geez, what a pitiful guy... To be killed by guys with battle powers slightly over 1,000 at most...”

He could be referencing Gohan/Piccolo exclusively I guess. But it would make sense for Raditz to be more nervous against a power of 1000 instead of 924.

As for Piccolo, Raditz is inferior to the Makankosappo. It's a literal light beam. Being able to dodge that is an insane feat.

With the Kamehameha I think it’s obvious Goku expected a bit more than being blocked, but Piccolo is tough. Dodging something once doesn’t mean you’re faster.

I think it's his full power. Catching a blast is a very impressive feat, I can't imagine him doing that at less than full power, especially if the quote about the 924 and rising wasn't a Vizism.

I think Piccolo's shock is still warranted. The Makankosappo is > Raditz. Dodging that is unexpected to say the least. If Raditz is within range of it he should be able to dodge it from that range with maximum effort.

You mean the amp list? I just brainstormed that to start things.

I think a good way to go would be Cell’s KHH = Garlic Gun = 1.33x since Garlic Gun is Vegeta’s KHH.

It works right? Then Androids is either 1.5x or 1.66x. The later is more comfortable, but then I have to push 18 to 1.5x Vegeta. I don’t like BBA being 1.2x her.

This does crunch the Part 1 amps, however.

I think in the context of the story, we see Raditz's mentality when being chased down by the KHH. He's not panicking but he's taking it seriously and doesn't want to deal with it. It would be weird for him to block that while holding back.

So when does he use full power? If he’s full power, why not just dodge it?
