The Chapter 22 wasn't that good especially how me and Black arguing about our plans which wans't like that in the anime.

Super seems to be random with the power-up's.
Trunks fought Black and was completely outclassed to the point where he had to run back to the past for a few days or less. Black somehow got a lot stronger in those days even though he doesn't get bullshit zenkai increases from damage like he did in the Anime and just sat around drinking tea. Zamasu had to actually heal Black for him to reach Super Saiyan Rose. That makes it seem like Manga Black is more comparable to an actual Saiyan than Anime Black, who gets stronger just by being punched in the gut hard.
Black also spared Trunks and told him to get stronger. It seems like Black went out of his way to keep Trunks around in hopes of him getting stronger. I wouldn't be surprised if that Super Saiyan 3 tier power he acquired was from the battles he had with Black. If Black was able to grow in power despite having the overwhelming upperhand, Trunks getting ridiculously stronger over a yr seems sensible enough.

Goku also said that Trunks should be able to handle future Zamasu alone which implies that the base/god form doesn't exist in the manga.

The point is, someone who takes this gay god persona this far, is clearly not capable of what it takes to be a real man in the real world. I don't think Goku absorbed the God Power in the Manga. In the Anime, absorbing it made Goku overall far more powerful than ever, whereas he still can become Super Saiyan God in the Manga to channel the power. The Base Saiyans seem to be nothing special in the Manga.
