What about all the times Goku smiles as he's having a good fight? You can smile while fighting someone equal to you.

Beerus was in a good mood from having eaten that fruit. That was made especially clear. And there are clear instances where Beerus stops smiling (as he's followed by the homing energy attacks Champa sends at him and as Champa almost hits him with a surprise kick).j

From what little we've been shown it looks like Beerus and Champa work together, with the latter ending up as a distraction.

Maybe you should look again? I looked recently and i'm certain I saw Beerus have a concerned look on his face as the energy attacks followed him and Champa came at him with a surprise kick.

Meh. Beerus seems to be above any level of SSBKK Goku. To me it feels natural for a new dimension of power to be reached to be able to match him (Limit Breaker Goku and Jiren). Vegito is powerful but he's still just using SSB. Goku could probably match him if he reached a high enough level of SSBKK (maybe x100?). But the limit breaker form and Jiren seem to be beyond what SSBKK could ever reach.

I got the implication that they were. Especially with how the energy balls they both were about to use towards the end looked exactly the same.

If you still don't see it after rereading the chapter I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Why are you ignoring the expression on Beerus's facial expression as he's concerned about the energy attack homing in on him and is a bit scared when Champa's surprise kick almost hits him?

I already told you the reason he was smiling at those parts was him being happy with himself about eating the fruit. I feel like the context should be taken into account here.

And the last attacks were EXACTLY the same. Exact same size and design. If that doesn't indicate them being equal I don't know what would.

Exact same. Difference being Champa is all worked-up trying his hardest and Bills is just smiling.

The fight perfectly shows that Champa can't keep up with Beerus.There's no denying on that.

I'm 100% sure there was something that indicated Bills is still superior to Vegetto.
