Found this pretty dope analysis of Kanki’s character. Not very long. If you want and have the time.

I am pretty disappointed though that we didn’t get a flashback that shows Kanki’s earlier life before meeting the Saki, what led to his downward trajectory and worldviews.

That was a good breakdown of his character. He definitely has layers of depth that could have been explored with further flashbacks.

How strong do you think Riboku is? It was said that he fought a lot in his younger days and made a name for himself that way. Yet he seemed rather unimpressive when he was surrounded by Kanki's forces.

It's weird cause he was portrayed as very powerful early in the series. He really shouldn't have looked like a scrub recently.
