Piccolo: "Vegeta's never been unable to read his opponent's strength."
Also Piccolo: Watched as Vegeta completely underestimated Freeza and Cell.
Just when I thought the previous chapter's understanding of an iconic character couldn't get any worse, Toyotaro surpasses himself again in that aspect. Vegeta goes back to being his Cell Arc self as is common with Super, saying "hurr durr I'm better than you Kakarrot!" to completely contradict the "You are Number One" scene for the over 9,000th time. Then you have Piccolo commenting on how much Vegeta has grown in fighting to protect the Earth. It seems Vegeta isn't the only one unable to remember the events of the Boo Arc
. Then you have Piccolo saying Goku hasn't changed since day one, despite it being pretty obvious Galu's Boo Arc and EoZ self for instance are far different in goals and maturity to what they were as a child. Perhaps the dumbest part of all this is Vegeta saying he knows he's going to Hell. Uh, you do remember you got elevated to good guy status from showing the desire to protect the universe from Boo, don't you? It's truly ironic how the arc of Super that has the most ties to the Boo Arc seems to forget all of the latter's iconic moments.
And, of course, Vegeta has to drop the ball as in FnF and underestimate Moro's magic.
I will say that forced spirit fission is a good technique though not just for its utility, but how it ties into the Saiyan mindset of wanting to keep a fight 1 on 1 without cheap elements like fusion. Unfortunately, that doesn't make up for the chapter completely misrepresenting 3 iconic characters to a degree as bad as the previous chapter's. Moro Arc may have just cemented itself as truly being the worst arc in Super.
