I read the final Volume of Part I. Goku VS Piccolo was climactic and a good end, but the inconsistency is too much.

Now that I've finished Part I, I'll read other Manga like FMA and get current with One Piece.

I gotta say, I love the dark atmosphere. When Piccolo dies on the battle field, the Dragon Balls are useless. I also love the potential worldbuilding with the Other World.

Saiyan might be even better than Piccolo Daimao. It doesn't have as much support from side characters, but I've noticed it's a bit underrated compared to most other Dragon Ball Arcs despite being good, and is a setup to Freeza, the best Arc. It might be bias on my end, but you know.

You know, in hindsight, I'm breezing through this series and really enjoying it. Maybe it's because I already know what happens, and it's much, much shorter than the anime. That, and I took a hiatus from Manga for months since I now dislike what the Industry has become, and Dragon Ball is a classic.

The Saibamen and Nappa VS the Z Senshi were both pretty good, although Nappa was an idiot half the time, and especially at the very end. Vegeta killing him for it was too much though.

I've noticed Toriyama's art has gotten better since Part I too. I expect it to max out during the late Freeza and early Cell Arcs.

I just finished Volume 4.

God damn! I knew Goku and the Z Senshi was going to be epic, but damn. This was a brutal battle. Goku alone pushed Vegeta to go all out and even transform into Oozaru. Then the rest of the Z Senshi pushed them to his absolute limit. It was insane. This definitely tops Goku VS Piccolo Daimao and is the best fight in the Manga thus far.

Saiyan Arc is definitely the peak of the Dbz IMO.

I really enjoyed Nappa vs the Z Kenshi. It really gave the feel that everyone was fucked, and there was actually a lot of carnage which had yet to be seen in the series.
